Drill Drawing

  • You can purchase the Drill Creation or All-in-One bundle add-on to access the drill drawing function, which includes drills (2D/3D animation & library), planning, execution, and playbook. For more information on this package, please refer to our Drill Creation page.

  • Layers of privacy for drills can be set by the creator of that drill.

Each drill can be left public (anyone on the team can view), set to Private (only creator can view), or set to Public for Coaches (players cannot view).

  • Yes, in fact we recommend it! Using a tablet with compatible touch screen pen is a useful way to take your drill creation on-the-go.

By carrying drills on a tablet, coaches can also take advantage of the Whiteboard tool for marking up drills during practice, or strategies during a game.

  • To share a drill with someone, users can export their drill as a PDF! In the drill edit page, click the PDF Export icon, and choose which attributes you wish to include in the page. Our system will generate a PDF file, and can also generate a URL to easily share with anyone.

To share a video clip of an animated drill, click the "Generate Video URL" button on the drill animation page. This feature will record a single play-through of the drill and automatically generate a shareable video URL.

  • Yes, users can use multiple colors within a single drill! However, icons and their respective movement lines should be the same color in order for the animation to work-- if an icon is blue and its running line is red, the icon won't move in animation.

For interactions between icons, such as passing from one player to another, we recommend keeping those interacting icons and lines the same color in order to simplify the animation.

Icons of the same color will move in a logical order (ie. Player 1 passes ball first, Player 2 moves second after receiving pass), but if a red icon passes to a blue icon, they will move independently of each other, and the timing will require manual adjustment on the animation page.

  • Try these tips for troubleshooting when something isn't moving in your drill animation!

Check that the icons and their lines are connected! When dragging a line to an icon, you will see a grey outer circle appear around the icon. The end of the line must be within this grey circle to be considered "attached."

Are your icon and line different colors? Icons will only move along lines of the same color.

Is the items movement line inverted in the animation adjustment screen? If while adjusting the animation you accidentally drag the "end point" before the "start point," the movement line becomes inverted. If the line has become white, this means it is inverted. To fix this, simply drag the starting point back to the correct timing.

  • On mobile.sunbears.com, our smartphone web application, there is no drill draw feature but users may view and animate existing drills.

Additionally, while accessing admin.sunbears.com through your smartphone browser and using the drill function is technically possible, it is not recommended. The drill draw feature is designed to work best with a tablet or computer; users may struggle to operate the small icons on a smartphone screen.
