Team Content & Management

  • If you're looking for an affordable and reliable way to manage your team's information, our Team Management Adv. add-on is the perfect fit. It's a simple yet effective system that allows you to keep your team's data safe and easily accessible from any location. This add-on is designed for teams that don't require the more advanced tracking or creative features offered by Sunbears. With our Team Management Adv. add-on, you can rest assured that your team's information is always organized and available to your staff whenever they need it.

  • The coaching card is available under Matches, on the right side of the page next to each match listing. Team staff can utilize this coaching card to record various additional information about a match or practice match that may be useful to the team.

Fill in the blanks of the coaching card in your browser and save it online, or even print a blank card for free note taking! Coaching cards have sections for comments, goals, strategy, and more.

  • If the plan which you want to delete is included in any of the schedules you cannot delete that plan.

  • If the images fail to export into your Playbook PDF, please make sure your playbook is saved and then refresh the page. Return to your playbook, check the drills, save, and try again. Sometimes this may happen.

  • Layers of privacy for drills can be set by the creator of that drill.

Each drill can be left public (anyone on the team can view), set to Private (only creator can view), or set to Public for Coaches (players cannot view).

  • What is RPE?

RPE is an abbreviation for Rate of Perceived Exertion. RPE is a scale used to identify the intensity of a session based on how hard the athlete feels (or perceives) their effort to be. This scale is typically measured from zero to ten.

    Why should you record it?

While the measure of RPE is subjective (meaning it's how the athlete feels), over time it can give a picture of how players on the team are handling practices and training. Once players have been reporting RPE for each session for multiple days, Sunbears automatically generates charts to display this information. Coaches/trainers can use these charts to make judgments about training intensity, and put the team in the proper mindset for injury prevention.

For more details about strength and conditioning data and its benefits, please refer to our blog posts collaborated with S&C coach Usui.

  • Yes, in fact we recommend it! Using a tablet with compatible touch screen pen is a useful way to take your drill creation on-the-go.

By carrying drills on a tablet, coaches can also take advantage of the Whiteboard tool for marking up drills during practice, or strategies during a game.

  • To share a drill with someone, users can export their drill as a PDF! In the drill edit page, click the PDF Export icon, and choose which attributes you wish to include in the page. Our system will generate a PDF file, and can also generate a URL to easily share with anyone.

To share a video clip of an animated drill, click the "Generate Video URL" button on the drill animation page. This feature will record a single play-through of the drill and automatically generate a shareable video URL.

  • Yes, users can use multiple colors within a single drill! However, icons and their respective movement lines should be the same color in order for the animation to work-- if an icon is blue and its running line is red, the icon won't move in animation.

For interactions between icons, such as passing from one player to another, we recommend keeping those interacting icons and lines the same color in order to simplify the animation.

Icons of the same color will move in a logical order (ie. Player 1 passes ball first, Player 2 moves second after receiving pass), but if a red icon passes to a blue icon, they will move independently of each other, and the timing will require manual adjustment on the animation page.

  • In order to collect attendance for each session, 2 things need to happen:

    1. Assign players for the session in the Schedule edit window. This can be done by inputting a group or lineup of specific players for the session. Additionally, if the "invite all active players" box is checked, the group/lineup can be left blank and all active players on the team will see the attendance status prompt on Schedule.

    2. Players need to submit their absences and irregular attendance statuses via mobile.sunbears.com on the Schedule page. Players who do not respond will be automatically calculated as attending.

  • Condition data can be collected everyday, with the Condition and Health surveys becoming available to all players each morning.

To collect RPE data, each Schedule session should be "Marked as Finished" in the Execute page (this can be done both on desktop and mobile by a staff member). Once the session is executed, the RPE survey will be visible to players who were part of that session.

Certain staff users (coach, trainer) can view this data on the Player & Position Statistics pages on our website.

  • Try these tips for troubleshooting when something isn't moving in your drill animation!

Check that the icons and their lines are connected! When dragging a line to an icon, you will see a grey outer circle appear around the icon. The end of the line must be within this grey circle to be considered "attached."

Are your icon and line different colors? Icons will only move along lines of the same color.

Is the items movement line inverted in the animation adjustment screen? If while adjusting the animation you accidentally drag the "end point" before the "start point," the movement line becomes inverted. If the line has become white, this means it is inverted. To fix this, simply drag the starting point back to the correct timing.

  • Coach staff can edit player's data submission in Statistics > Player Statistics (desktop site only). To do so, click the mistaken data, enter the correct value, and save!
